We are here to answer all of your questions and respond to any concerns you may have in order to provide you the most appropriate treatment plan that is realistic and achievable. DR. PAT REDMOND
Owner/Manager – General Dentist
Dr. Redmond is co-owner/operator of Gander Family Dental Clinic, where he has practiced as a general dentist since 1995. Raised in rural Nova Scotia and a graduate of Dalhousie’s Doctor of Dental Surgery program, he practiced in the Canadian Armed Forces for three years before moving to Gander and opening his own practice. He enjoys all aspects of general dentistry and provides services including root canals, orthodontics, wisdom teeth extractions, veneers, dentures, and crown and bridge. Dr. Redmond and his wife Madonna have two daughters, and his hobbies include tennis, squash, skiing, fishing, and volunteering. Dr. Redmond is treasurer of the Newfoundland and Labrador Dental Association, President of Gander Community Tennis Association, a Director of Tennis Newfoundland, and has been involved in many local organizations such as the Gander Airport Authority, Gander Trailways Committee, and the Gander and Area Chamber of Commerce.
DR. KHASH
General Dentist
Dr. Khash is a general dentist practicing in Gander, Twillingate, Baie Verte, and Grand Falls-Windsor. He was raised in Halifax, NS and is happy to call Newfoundland his new home. He obtained both his B.Sc. (Neuroscience) and DDS from Dalhousie University. He enjoys all aspects of dentistry from making dentures to extracting teeth. Dr. Khash believes that prevention is better than cure. It is important to him to deliver treatment plans tailored to every individual in order to enhance the oral health of his patients. In his downtime, Dr. Khash loves to stay active whether it is kicking a soccer ball, spending time at the gym, or exploring hiking trails near and far.
DR. LAURA PECKFORD
General Dentist
Dr. Laura Peckford is a general dentist practicing in Gander and Grand Falls-Windsor. Being born and raised in Lewisporte, Newfoundland and Labrador she graduated from Memorial University of Newfoundland with a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry Nutrition. She then completed a certificate in Aboriginal and Indigenous Studies before completing the Doctor of Dental Surgery program at Western University in London, Ontario. When she’s not in scrubs, you can find her enjoying an active lifestyle outdoors, in the gym and playing hockey as well as spending time with her two dogs and family and friends. Dr. Peckford has a passion for interacting with patients to provide them with a gentle, patient and caring experience all while ensuring they smile big and proud when leaving her chair.
Crystal
Dental Hygienist
Crystal’s passion for Dental Hygiene goes far beyond cleaning teeth. She truly loves helping patients feel comfortable, confident and cared for. As a dedicated Registered Dental Hygienist, she believes education is one of the most important parts of patient care, and enjoys taking time to teach her patients about oral health in a gentle, supportive, and easy to understand way. She’s passionate about staying current with research and evidence-based practices so she can bring the latest knowledge and techniques into her work every day. Creating a calm, pain free experience for nervous patients is especially important to her and she takes pride in helping patients feel at ease in the chair. Outside of dentistry, she’s a family-oriented person who loves cooking, spending quality time with loved ones, and making memories at concerts and road trips with her husband Norman. Whether She’s caring for her children, trying new recipes, enjoying music, or planning creative ideas for her business Crystal brings warmth, energy, and heart into everything she does.
Karlie
Dental Hygienist
Karlie is originally from Birchy Bay, relocated to Grand Falls-Windsor in 2016. Since graduating as a Registered Dental Hygienist from Canadian National Institute of Hygiene, she has been practicing for three years and joined GFW Dental Clinic in June 2025. Karlie is passionate with creating brighter smiles and building relationships with her patients. Her laughter is a joy to hear at our office and brings a smile to everyone that meets her. Outside of the clinic, Karlie is likely painting, exploring the outdoors, or enjoying quality time with her family & friends.
Krystal
Dental Assistant
Krystal is an RDA who has been enjoying the rewarding practice of dentistry since 2021. She strives in providing a comfortable atmosphere for all patients & in doing so has received training for IV sedation dentistry in 2021. From Central Newfoundland originally, she continues to enjoy the beauty of central travelling from clinic to clinic, connecting with patients all over. Out of office, Krystal enjoys travelling, spending time with friends/ family and most importantly supporting her favourite team, the Habs.
April
Dental Assistant
April is a dedicated dental assistant with 15 years experience. She has the passion/ability to help patients feel comfortable & confident in their dental care experience. April is known for her friendly personality and calm approach, she enjoys building connections with patients while supporting the dental team in creating healthy beautiful smiles. Her attention to detail & positive energy/attitude makes her a valued part of the dental team at GFW Dental Clinic. Outside the office, April spends most of her time with her husband & son. She likes to travel & enjoys many aspects of the outdoors whether its snowmobiling or side by side in the winter/fall, to spending time at the cabin in the summer.
Heidi
Dental Assistant
Heidi joined the team at GFW Dental Clinic in September 2025. She has a background in healthcare and is passionate in providing compassionate care and helping patients feel at ease and comfortable throughout their dental visit. She strives to create a welcoming environment where patients can relax, laugh and leave with a smile. Outside of the clinic, she enjoys living an active lifestyle, spending time outdoors with her 2 dogs Hank & Tucker, playing a variety of sports such as hockey and golf. She loves to travel with her fiancé, and making memories with family and friends.
Andrea
Dental Assistant
Andrea graduated from dental assisting school in December 2025 and have been loving her career in the dental field ever since. She joined our team at GFW Dental Clinic in October 2025. She is dedicated to helping patients feel comfortable and at ease during their visits, often using humor and conversation to create a positive experience. She is passionate about providing compassionate patient care and creating a welcoming environment. Outside of work you can find her curled up with a good book, camping with friends, or playing with her fur baby, Douglas.
Nicole
Supervisor/Office Administrator
With 19 years of experience in the dental field, Nicole brings a deep understanding of both patient care and clinic operations. Beginning her career as a receptionist, she quickly developed a passion for creating a welcoming and organized environment for patients. Through dedication and leadership, she advanced into a Supervisor/Office admin role, where she now oversees daily operations, supports the clinical team, and ensures a smooth and positive experience for every patient. Her extensive experience and commitment to excellence make her an invaluable part of the practice.
When Nicole is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, dog sitting her grand fur baby Sage, watching a good movie, and in summertime loves relaxing in her back garden enjoying a nice fire and listening to 80’s music!
Wanda
Dental Receptionist
Wanda brings 33 years of experience in the dental field, having worked as both a dental assistant and now as a dental receptionist. After stepping away from dentistry for nine years, she quickly realized how much she missed the profession and was excited to return to the field she loves. Wanda has been a valued member of the GFW Dental team for the past three years and enjoys connecting with patients and helping create a welcoming experience for everyone who walks through the door.
Outside of work, Wanda loves spending quality time with her family, relaxing with her two dogs, and enjoying weekends away at the cabin.
Bonnie
Dental Receptionist
Bonnie is a dedicated and detail-oriented dental receptionist who takes pride in creating a welcoming and organized environment for every patient. While she is new to the dental field, she is thoroughly enjoying the experience and is eager to learn and grow in her role. With a strong focus on communication and efficiency, she ensures appointments run smoothly while helping patients feel comfortable and cared for from the moment they walk through the door. Bonnie is known for her reliability, positive attitude, and commitment to supporting both patients and her team.
In her spare time, Bonnie enjoys spending quality time with her family and making the most of every moment together. She also loves staying active and playing softball, bringing the same team spirit and enthusiasm from the field into her everyday life.
